bridges to link business with
opportunities around the world. The 3-D Network Co. runs an international on-line network connecting industries and executives with new markets, employees and contacts. Just one year old, the service expects to have, 1.5 million members this year and will open a Netherlands subsidiary Jan. 14. That office joins operations in Canada, the U.S., China, Latin America, Europe and Australia. In March, offices in the U.K .and Germany will open. "The timing of our company is so right," said president Huibert Arnold. "We are being pushed, whether we like it or not, by cyberspace." It's a lesson Arnold learned first hand as seven of his 10 closest friends lost their jobs through downsizing. The men, in their 40s and 50s, struggled to find a place in what Arnold calls the "hidden job market" despite extensive | ![]() |

events organized by local chapters. One U.S. company used the network to track down an engineer for a new operation in Australia saving time and money. "If they did not have us, they would have put an ad in the Melbourne newspaper and waited," Arnold said."We can effectively bring in contacts who have been screened in a matter of months." Another corporation in Singapore used the 3-D Network to establish a business in China. The network helped track down used brewery equipment in Germany that was dismantled and shipped to China. "The ultimate goal is to connect industry to industry and industry to individuals," Arnold said. "All is possible through the Internet." | |

Many executives don' t know how to harness the Internet's potential to boost business, he added. "A lot of people are groping in the dark," Arnold said. "They don't have any idea what computers are about." The 3-D Network offers 20 services to three groups: Executives, graduates and middle management and students. It works as an entrepreneurial matchmaker, linking business and |

The network uses the Internet to help corporations track down new markets and distribution opportunities, investment capital and financing, joint ventures and technology transfers.
