Company Overview
Famous for offering emergency roadside assistance, AAA (originally the American Automobile Association) was founded in San Francisco in the early 1900s, when cars were a hobbyist’s pastime instead of a common mode of transportation. A century later, AAA now offers a variety of services in addition to roadside assistance.

Its financial services division offers a AAA/Visa credit card; its insurance division offers not only automobile insurance, but homeowners, renters, life, and flood insurance; and its travel services division books cruises and directs a chain of travel agencies across the U.S. AAA also publishes the monthly magazine Via, featuring articles about travel and motoring, some of which are available online.
